Welcome to the crazy, mad, funny, outlandish, outrageous, zany world of WELCOME, directed by Anees Bazmee, who gave us the rib-tickling NO ENTRY. Bazmee is a veteran when it comes to leave-your-brains-at-home comic capers, having penned and helmed non-stop laughathons in the past.
To cut a long story short, WELCOME is one of those entertainers that deliver what it promises: Funny sequences, super performances and loads and loads of laughter. Without doubt, WELCOME will be welcomed with open arms by the aam junta!
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal and Feroz Khan
Director: Anees Bazmee
Synopsis: Dubai based don, Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) is desperate to get his sister, Sanjana (Katrina) married to a suitable boy belonging to a decent family. But he always faces problems when the prospective groom’s family comes to know about his criminal background. On the other hand there is Dr. Ghungroo, who has vowed to never marry his nephew Rajiv (Akshay) into any family which is remotely related to crime. Uday’s best pal cum brother in arms Majnubhai (Anil) too is helping him to find the perfect match for Sanjana. Dr. Ghungroo almost gives in to Uday oblivious about his background but when he comes to know about it he flees the city to another town with his wife and Rajeev to escape Uday’s wrath. But Rajiv ends up falling in love with Sanjana there. When she takes them both to meet her brothers they are in for a shock when they discover Uday and Majnubhai are her brothers. They are in for a bigger jolt when the brothers tell them about their third big brother, RDX bhai (FK) who is set to join them for the engagement ceremony.
Reluctantly, Ghungroo gives in his consent for the match but plots to throw in Ishika (Mallika) as Rajeev’s childhood fiancée. But Rajeev confronts his uncle and vows that he will convince Sanjana’s brothers to leave the world of crime. How his schemes lead to a series of comical ups and downs is what the rest of the film all about.

| OM SHANTI OM - RELEASED ON 9.11.07 |
| |
 |
Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om is a true-blue masala entertainer. If Main Hoon Na was a chauka, this one hits a sixer!
Om Shanti Om is paisa vasool entertainment. We haven't seen SRK in a hardcore masala film since quite some time. He had drifted to other genres, which proved his range as an actor of repute and cemented his status further. With Om Shanti Om, he gives back to the audience what he himself grew up on -- a thorough entertainer that will have the audience thirsting for more.
Om Shanti Om tells the story of Om [Shahrukh Khan] and Shanti [Deepika Padukone]. Om is a junior artist in the 70s. Shanti is the reigning superstar. He is her biggest fan. He is in love with her. Om dreams of being a superstar, but an incident changes his life forever. Om dies in a mishap, but is reborn into the present day. He attempts to discover the mystery of his demise… |

| |
| The first twist in the tale [Arjun - Deepika's heated confrontation, with SRK listening to this important conversation] comes as a bolt from the blue. The second jhatka comes slightly before the intermission, when Arjun takes Deepika to the set of his film 'Om Shanti Om' and the entire episode that follows, right till the intermission, is spellbinding. That's a brilliant stroke from the writing [screenplay: Mushtaq Shaikh and Farah Khan] as also the execution point of view. When the opulent set is set to flames, it leaves you wide-eyed and awe-struck. Such is the impact! |

The post-interval portions only get better and better! If the initial portions are laced with humour [the premiere of 'Dreamy Girl', the Manoj Kumar episode, Ghai directing Rishi on 'Om Shanti Om' song, et al], the second half moves into a new zone completely.
Manikanandan's cinematography captures the gloss and grandeur to the minutest. The opulent sets [Sabu Cyril] deserve distinction marks. Dialogues [Mayur Puri] are witty and do raise a chuckle at several points. Background score [Sandeep Chowta] is effective.
Vishal-Shekhar's music is first-rate. The score is in sync with the content of the film and what accentuate the goings-on are the choreography and execution. Although every song is visually enticing, the 21-star track as also 'Dard-E-Disco' will have the masses going into a frenzy.
On the whole, Om Shanti Om is Bollywood masala in its truest form and also, at its best. At the box-office, the film will set new records in days to come and has the power to emerge one of the biggest hits of SRK's career. Blockbuster hit! |

| We all know that first-time director Sajid Khan has a flair for comedy. But, honestly, I wondered, how he would fare as a director. So allow me this ‘drool moment’ (baby term) in expressing my views on Sajid the director. Absolutely brilliant! For a first-timer, Sajid has effortlessly woven the scenes to piece a seamless movie; like a master knitter who weaves with the magic of long needles an amazing centerpiece for the table. |
 |
| |
| He’s got everything spot-on including the goodwill from the industry which is seen in SRK in a guest appearance in a song (intelligently woven into the script), and a bevy of beauties in the title track that sets the mood for the film. Technically, it can’t be faulted; visually, the cameraman has captured some amazing moments with the baby and the background score and music by Shankar Mahadevan, Eshaan Noorani and Loy Mendonca is foot tapping. A mention about the editing as well -- slick!!!! |
| |
 |
To get to the story, it’s about three friends Aroush (Akshay Kumar) Tanmay (Riteish Deshmukh) and Al (Fardeen Khan). Their philandering ways and how they are forced to look after a baby when someone leaves her at their door. Out go their dates and in comes nappy changing time. Right from the time they get busy feeding the baby (juaina) to the time they try to get rid of her, to the moment they are reunited with her -- it all makes for interesting viewing. There’s never a dull moment. |

| PARTNER – RELEASED ON 20.07.2007 |
| |
| ‘PARTNER’ a David Dhawan's new comic caper. It's stylish, it's crazier, it's a bigger entertainer than David's last two laughathons, MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI and MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA. Making people laugh is an art and David has mastered this art over the years. |
| |
| PARTNER is a true-blue David Dhawan film. It's glossy, has some stunning visuals, boasts of very catchy and hummable music and of course, hardly has any tense moment in those 16 reels. |
 |
What works is the casting of the two characters, who're as dissimilar as chalk and cheese. Although the romantic portions have the right chemistry between Salman and Lara and Govinda and Katrina, the USP is undoubtedly the terrific bonding between Salman and Govinda, whose on-screen escapades take the film to dizzier heights. Besides, the witty one-liners [Sanjay Chhel] are another ace that has the viewer in splits. The dialogues are truly funny and actually accentuate the impact of every sequence. |
|
| |
 |
David Dhawan gets it right yet again. He's on familiar ground and like a seasoned cricketer knows the game inside out. He hits a boundary yet again. Sanjay Chhel's dialogues are superb. Sajid-Wajid make a terrific comeback, with every song having the stamp of a chartbuster embossed on it. Even their picturizations [choreography: Bosco-Caesar] are excellent. Cinematography [Johny Lal] is first-rate. The film bears an opulent look all through. Costumes of Salman and Govinda [Alvira Khan Agnihotri] are stylish. |
